Ustad Zakir Hussain and Pandit Nikhil Banerjee

We start off the hour with two tracks by the legendary Ustad Zakir Hussain. The first one is an interesting performance, where he showcases the sounds of almost every percussive instrument used in Indian classical music. The second track is a performance with his father, Ustad Alla Rakha Khan in Rupak Taal.

1. Zakir Hussain - Khand Jati (19:00)
2. Zakir Hussain - Rupak taal (10:06)

Our next artist for the day is Pandit Nikhil Banerjee. For those of you who are unfamiliar with that name, he is one of the most well-known sitar players in India, and his style and virtuosity speaks for itself.

3. Nikhil Banerjee - Raag Megh (19:42)
4. Nikhil Banerjee - 4. Raag Khamaj Thumri (11:42)
